Whether you want to become a Registered Yoga Teacher, apply yoga in your present career, or explore the practice and lifestyle more deeply, this program provides the professional education and training to become a more effective practitioner and qualified teacher. To get started and become a Registered Yoga Teacher, Yoga Alliance requires a minimum of 200 hours teacher training, of which 180 must be contact hours.
CERTIFICATION SamsaraSukha School of Yoga is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School. Graduates of the SamsaraSukha School of Yoga Teacher Training Program are immediately eligible for the Registered Yoga Teacher 200-Hour Level (RYT-200) registration with Yoga Alliance.
CURRICULUM The SamsaraSukha School of Yoga Teacher Training Program fulfills the following Yoga Alliance Standards of Training:
· Techniques Training and Practice: Guided practice as well as a comprehensive approach to learning how to practice and teach yoga asanas, pranayama, kriyas, chanting, mantra, meditation, and other traditional yoga techniques. · Teaching Methodology: Principles of demonstration, observation, assisting/correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, the student’s process of learning, and business aspects of teaching yoga. · Anatomy and Physiology: Human physical anatomy and physiology and energy anatomy and physiology. · Yoga Philosophy/Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers: History of yoga, yoga philosophies, yoga teacher lifestyle and ethics. · Practicum: Practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching and hearing/giving feedback, and giving assists in classes taught by others.
The curriculum also includes advanced training in providing introductions to relevant topics such as:
· Ayurveda · Yoga Therapeutics · The Art of Sequencing · Prenatal Yoga · Restorative Yoga · Nutrition for a Yogi/Yogini · Sustainable and Organic Living · Applying Your Skills as a Yoga Teacher
PROGRAM DATES & SCHEDULE The next 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program starts on May 14, 2010 and ends on September 19, 2010. Yoga Teacher Training Applications should be submitted by April 23, 2010. Contact hours for the program are as follows:
· May 14-16, 2010 · May 25, 2010 · June 4-6, 2010 · June 15, 2010 · June 25-27, 2010 · July 6, 2010 · July 16-18, 2010 · July 27, 2010 · August 6-8, 2010 · August 17, 2010 · August 27-29, 2010 · September 7, 2010 · September 10-12, 2010 · September 18-19, 2010
Tuesday and Friday classes meet from 6 pm to 10 pm. Saturday and Sunday classes meet from 9 am to 6 pm with a one-hour break.
PROGRAM TUITION Tuition for the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program is $2,300 and includes 180 scheduled group contact hours and one weekly small group class at the studio to support your practice. A $100 non-refundable application fee, which is applied towards tuition, is payable with submission of Yoga Teacher Training Application. $1,000 deposit payable one week prior to program start date. $600 due by end of second weekend module. Balance of $600 due at start of fourth weekend module. A discount of $150 is offered for tuition paid in full prior to program start date.
FACULTY Kelly Carver, E-RYT is the primary teacher for the SamsaraSukha School of Yoga Teacher Training Program and will perform all final evaluations. However, when possible, presenters may be called in to speak.
EVALUATIONS There are a series of evaluations: There will be a final practice-teach evaluation, a final guided-practice evaluation, and a round-robin student-observation evaluation. |
